Does UAC only look at our external performence? (1 Viewer)

I've heard UAC does this. Meaning they only use the 50% of our mark, which they take from our final HSC exams (because everyone does the same exam, so it's fair). But this sounds incorrect. Don't they get our overall HSC mark and then scale it out of 50 for a 2 unit subject? Not sure what happens to a 1 unit subject? scale it out of 25?

can someone please clarify...

Yes they do look at your internal performance. Maybe there's some confusion because they take your raw HSC marks from BOS (not the aligned marks that you see on your HSC certificate)

raw marks :/ :( even raw marks from school assessment?

The school's internal marks are moderated (adjusted) to have the same average mark and mark range as the school's raw external marks. Then both of those two marks are sent to UAC for scaling.

All units are scaled to a mark out of 50 so a 2 unit course will have two lots out of 50 and a 1 unit course 1 lot of 50. The best 10 marks out of 50 are added to give a mark out of 500. In the olden days this was the mark that was reported to students. Then they started to use the 99.9 etc instead of an actual mark but the process remains the same.
