The Democrats reaction and response to President Trump just shows why they lost. The right/Republicans went absolutely nuts at almost everything Obama did, the Democrats on the other hand look like a limp dick against Trump. No passion, no fire, no wonder they are losing in a country which increasingly identifies itself as being left wing.

A good little summary of the left which the West Wing called 10 years ago.

IQ tests are an extremely reductionist way of measuring intelligence, that's not to say there isn't some correlation between IQ scores and what we deem 'intellect', its just limited.

The largest issue is that IQ tests only measure a specific type of thought, logical thinking, which can be absolutely be taught and as such creates a bias towards those who have been educated in those areas. There is also a well documented cultural bias that inhibits the performance of those not acclimatised to European methods of thought.

Trump, at least to me, seems to be quite a stupid individual. His vocabulary is extremely limited, he cannot form a consistent policy platform and somehow manages to contradict himself every day.

Hey though at least he shows that truly horrendous societal malaise, 'feminism', who's who. Climate change, radical inequality and the US state-sponsored terrorism are all peanuts next to it.

they dont really just measure "logical thinking" at all, that's a myth. at their core IQ tests measure a holistic intuitive mental quality (which is mediated by a plethora of identified physiological neural processes) that, among other things, impacts upon mental processing speeds, the ability to educe relationships and correlations, memorise rapidly and solve problems. IQ tests themselves attempt to capture this quality, but do so imperfectly; as well as measuring this quality, they also measure specific training and broader, but still specific, abilities, such as 'verbal ability' and 'spatial ability', as well as bias/momentary mental states, etc. "cultural bias" as etiology of certain inter-group differences on IQ tests has long been an explanation wanting for substantiation, and has largely not held up to relevant statistical analyses.

no one has really figured out a way to "train" people in the primary quality of IQ tests attempt to measure because that quality is general; training people to solve problems in a specific way reduces the extent to which those problems actually measures the principal component of IQ tests, which dilutes their overall predictive value.

trump's IQ is probably between 115-125, to the extent to which one can guess from facile surface characteristics/background information. not genius level, but not "dumb" either. eggheads have very rarely fared well in american presidential politics anyway (nixon excepted), as hillary clinton found out the hard way.

Different countries have IQ tests adjusted for cultural differences. Though don't you think it's kind of bizarre that people in several asian countries have the highest IQs in the world? Are they not affected by the cultural bias of the test, or would their IQs be even greater compared to everyone else without cultural bias?

As for within a country, the areas of IQ tests most prone to cultural bias actually turn out to be those where the black/white gap is smallest.
