Downloading program (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I need to download a pretty big program for uni but i probably wont be able to download it all at once, hence it will cancel when i close it. I know there are programs that can pause it, i used to have one a while back but cant remember what it was, does anyone know of it?

yer flash get I'd recommed or FlashFXP something like that because they are slightly faster than http:// and are direct downloads... also more reliable

Dosen't the inbuilt firefox downloading utility include the ability to pause?

Doesnt it cancel though when you close the browser?

I use Get Right, (not all that often i must admit) but it seems to get the job done. It's avaliable on most PC cover CDs - otherwise just do a google seach and im sure ull find it!

I do but it wasnt really big, about 50 mb. I was expecting it to be way bigger. But i ended up finishing it all at once anyways. Thanks for the help though

if u have 56 k leave it downloading over night. i download about 100-150 mbs a night everytime i leave my internet on. but make shore u have your internet setting to reconnect automaticly cuase it usully disconnection

Thats how I used to download 2+ gig a month on dialup. It is also how we spent a fortune on phone bills.

yeah, depends on your connection session.

when i was on dial-up, i had 10hr sessions.
i could get 2gb in 1 week

and here i am stuck on 28.8kbps with NO path to broadband!! :'( although, i do get my dialup for free with no cut off times

thats the thing, all the calls can basically add up to the amount u pay for braodband, i am hoping this is the factor to convince my family to change over to braodband or adsl.
