hmmmmm

i would say errrrr
drop if and only if you really hate it and don't think you will do work for it
there's no point in keeping it, working at it half-arsely and wasting time which can be better spent on other subjects

but ext1 is one of those subjects which can easily be learnt with a little work...ext1 maths is just a addon to some topics in 2u, if you focus all your work on ext1 then you will simply understand all of the work in 2u without any problems

but some people just don't like maths

i think...u shudnt drop it....as i know from a reliable source...that even if u get 40/84 in hsc u end up with 40/50 scaled...and me myself expected 60% and i ended up with 45/50! scalling is cool...but ofcourse do work hard! as it varies every year!

i did pretty well in Ext 1 Maths in yr 11(rank 2/8), but don't know y, but my grade started to drop in 3u in yr 12...i got around 70% in most assessments and like 50% in my trial!! and the trial mark was this low only because of Silly Mistakes ...such as i did THREE pages of working to get the answer to a question which was only worth one mark....so yeah...i made a table....writing down each question number, topic's name, and the marks i got and why i lost marks? such as if i did a silly mistake, and what was the reason, or i did not know the topic well...or if i had some confusion....

and then i came to a conclusion that in the Final HSC exam all i am going to do was attempt the questions i can...and the ones which are like out of my scope, i'd leave em...such as q7,8...BUT u should always attempt some parts of these questions--cos u can always get "part marks"....

My rank in my class was 4/6
so yeah,...in the end i ended up with 44/50 :),....Thanks to my encouraging Math's Teacher :D

drop one of your other subjects (bio, chem, eco or legal, my opinion is eco, but whatever you feel you should/want to drop), keep 3u maths.

It gets scaled like crazy, plus if you use all the time you were using for the subject you drop, you'll ace it. Cause time + maths = results. Thats a 3u and 4u equation. ;) lol

sorry, bad joke, but couldn't resist. ^_^

btw, i'm Paki. :D Which part are you from?

With the exception of Lazarus, no one has ever got hold of their own raw marks. However, there is general information available.
do schools get ur raw marks? like the proncipal might have them in his office and u could like go in and steal them??? just an idea i dont really have a clue
