Dropping HSC subjects (2 Viewers)

Does anyone know if there is a cut off date for a student to drop subjects? I'm really desperate here!!

i think the cut off date was actually
when youve finished your yr 11 prelims
that point where u merge to yr 12
its a decison of dropping the subjects u dont like
and picking up one is as of matter
cause you have to have met the board requirements of a completed preliminary course, but in my school the only subject i think is possible to pick up on is probably Studies of religion
that's if you already do 1 unit and you wanna pick up onto 2 unit

Well, currently i have 12 units, and the subject i am looking to drop is extension english, which would leave me with 11 units...

I know what your saying, but then what about the people who chose 2 do Ext 2 English? which is only offered in yr 12, and then drop that? Its an open ended slate isn't it?

I dunno...where are subject co-ordinators when u need them?

i think the absolute cut off date is around now.. a bit after the trials
i think if you drop any later you are put down as a 0% and bring down the rest of your school so hurry up and ask your school year co ordinator or subject co ordinator

i always thought that u could drop it anytime u want....like u could drop it say a day b4 ur hsc exam for that subject...but im not sure tho

thats way too close
id really say its harsh
cause in every year
your have to sign something called
the board of studies prelim /HSC student entry form

that confirms and re assures thats the subjects your sticking with and will be surely doin the HSC

Why drop a subject?

Just don't do any work for it.

its better to drop it. then you get more frees etc
and you dont bring down other peoples marks

I think my teacher said that they have to send in all our school assessment results to the board of studies by 17/ 9 or something... Like I'm still thinking of dropping 4 u maths even though i've done the trials and so I guess I better decide b4 that day so that they can send in a 2 u mark for me instead of a 4 u mark...

There is not cut off........even if you don't turn up to do your HSC exam it wont affect the rest of your classmates as they will just take you out of the equation

I spoke to my co-ordinators today, and ultimately there is no cut-off date for dropping subjects. You are relatively free 2 do it whenever u want too, granted that u have enough units etc etc

However, assessment marks and rankings are due into the board soon, and if your thinking of dropping a subject, do it real soon, so that the school can notify the BOS as soon as possible,and not submit assessment marks 4 u 4 that subject.
