electrical engineering.. + chemistry? (1 Viewer)

hi im in year 11 and am interested in studying electrical engineering at uni

i was just wondering though if it would be possible to also maybe take 1 class of chemistry because i really enjoy learning about it, but dont want to do it as a profession.. and no i wont study chemical engineering

i wasnt going to do electrical because it requires you to go hardcore at maths, physics and computing in one.
in electrical id worry more about those than chemistry.

Today, most of engineering is done on computers.

Also, yes, you can take as many chemistry units as you like. Either as part of electives, or as part of extra units on top of your degree.

In a few years time you'll rethink that statement.

Do Engineering/Science. Major in chemistry.

It takes a year extra but if you really like chemistry then do it.

Alternatively, you could simply pick chemistry subjects as your electives, so in the end you will probably do 3-4 chemistry courses.

hi there!

unless you want to take a combined degree (waste of time and money imo), then i wouldn't bother.

the maths/physics of electrical engineering is stimulating enough, trust me :)

and i think uni chemistry is a bit harder than school chemistry.
