Umm, it was an in-class essay for me, so I don't remember it exactly, but it went something along the lines of:
"Moral dilemmas cause us to reconsider our values, but it is our intrinsic behaviour that truly determines our moral compass."
Discuss this statement, giving reference to both your prescribed and related texts.
English Extension 1 we get next week, but last years question (and hence our practice question), was:
"Heart of Darkness was written at the dawn of the colonial era in Africa and part of its power clearly comes from its eloquent denunciation of the conceit behind colonialism."
To what extent does this reflect the purpose and style of Conrad's novella?
