is the chemistry excel preliminary book gud?? coz excel follows the syllabus

Excel Preliminary Chemistry is an okay textbook. However, I would recommend Conquering Chemistry. Unlike Excel, Conquering Chemistry has clear colour diagrams plus short and simple explanations as opposed to the black and white pictures and detail explanations of Excel.

I agree with A l

however, excel isn't the best of books... i don't own a year 11 one but from what i've seen from the yr 12.. i'd assume it's probably the same...

but conquering chem is one of the best book for preliminary IMO

I have Conquering Chemistry and Chemistry Pathways 1.

I recommend CC.. it's good :)

an excellent teacher who was once at my school (and taught someone who got 3rd in the state for chem) told me never to buy excel. try the "surfing" series, and i agree, conquering chem is v. good, and so is chemistry contexts
