Better for universities just to offer components of courses such as higher level of Mathematics for high school students.

Extension 3 would be a wasted of time if it doesn't count towards your atar

Yes but if you had to do 10 units plus extension 3 it would affect your subjects
Perhaps I am misunderstanding you.

If you do well enough in supposed Extension 3, then it will count to your 10 units.

Ohh I though OP meant that ext3 wouldn't be officially a part of your units lol.. Yeah we are misunderstanding each other.

I was the one who suggested that for the extra keen students or for those intending to do more maths in uni lol.

Not sure though who would opt for it, but if people go for things like high school pathways at some universities, I would think there would be quite a few out there willing to go for it.
