below 50% in assessments is failure..and so far i've been scrapping through

I think i failed once though, i can't remember

As for being below average..i think in that case i'm failing about 4 of 7 courses...uh oops?

I say i 'fail' when i get lower than 50%... however, i haven't done that in anything during yr 11 or the hsc, so i'm pleased. However, i aim for band 5+.. so... i don't know.

as someone said...anything below band 5...

so as of now, nothing i'm failing, but very close to 'failing' english and maths [in terms of overall course percentage]

Depends on the subject. Less than average is a fail for me, however if the average is less than 50% I consider less than 50 a fail even if it's better than average.

Some subjects if I don't come first or second I get really annoyed, but it isn't a fail, just a fail at doing what I'd hoped to do.

Everybody is different. Most people define failure (in terms or academic marks) as less than 50%. Others will view things differently like above where some may view failure as not achieving a goal etc.

Let me reiterate ... Failure depends on your frame of reference ... Obviously there is no simultaneity here ...

Failure to me is below 80, failure to some uber mega smart person is 99 ... no simultaneity.

Hahahaha, i wasn't actually serious.

My parents don't really give a crap. They just say that as long as i did my best or as long as i do what i want etc.. I put standards on myself to peform well.

So i count <75 as fail.
