Hopefully this will be the last time we need to pay it in this form. I am sick of paying $30-40 each session for sports fees when I have never touched anything to do with sport at the university.

well maybe you should participate in the sports program...i think the point of the union fee was to make people want to get their moneys worth and hence participate in activities that their money is going towards.

and yes i understand that some people are too stupid/lazy/busy to do this so they grumble about their fees going to stuff they dont use.

but yes...payment due...

What do they do if you don't pay by the deadline?

Personally I don't care about the stupid union services, sport services etc. My life is busy enough as it is (work, uni, exercise, socialise) to worry about doing boring Uni-run activities. I basically come for my classes and leave. And it's ironic that the only facility i'd want to use - the Gym - is more expensive than a highly commercial service like Fitness First.

Also, before you say anything about the subsidised food - the discount isn't anything larger than a few bucks, which i'd be happy to pay as opposed to wasting money on things I don't use.

You can't access my.UNSW to update enrollment, view results/academic statement
You can't vote in any elections
You don't get your exam results until you pay.

but yes, you can't do anything with your enrolment or timetables etc if you don't pay.

Meh I'll pay in December
How does that work?? Don't you have to pay your HECS/fees sooner, rather than later..?

underthesun: yea, 33 units. I'm doing 30 this session, 3UOC from winter.

Is it still possible to get that 20% upfront discount if we pay in december?

That's for the HECS, we're talking about Student Activity Fees (the ones the Howard government wishes to abolish)- the $250-odd one rather than the $2000+ one

Anyway, if you pay it in December, it's hardly "upfront", is it.

No, you have to pay before the HECS Census date.
