i love foreign films... french ones are great. But havent seen one at the movies for awhile. Last one i saw was tais toi (I tried to put bais toi on my jersey but got busted) but wanted to see the triplets of belleville. Anyone got to see it?
Also wish i could go to uni to start a foreign film screening night. that'd be cool. Yeah, i'd think going and living in a french-speaking country would be great. If u dont like the french perhaps cananda - that'd be kewl. I want to learn spanish cause je suis est parle francais (a little anyway)...

Olay how was that? I really wanted to see it when it was on at the French film festival in March... is it out here on DVD?

Yeah I saw it at said film festival. It was really cute :p. No dialogue, but it was excellent. With very stick-in-your-head-forever theme song...

About a boy who lives with his grandma and who dreams of being in the Tour de France, he finally succeeds, when complications start...

Re: baise toi = fuck you?, 'baiser' is not as in the sense as the insult - more the actual act of when two become one... 'baise-toi', more like 'fuck yourself', in that respect...

I really want to see "Goodybe Lenin"! I'll have to look out for the DVD though so hopefully I can take away the subtitles.

Has anyone seen a Swedish movie "Kops"?
I saw it this year when I went to Austria, it is a hilarious movie!
It was kind of strange though because we were at this open air cinema, had a glass of Chardonay, and the actual movie had the Swedish dubbed over into German, so sometimes I did not know what they were saying...but most of the time I understood completely.

Haha.. Reminds me of a m ovie I saw on SBS a few weeks ago. It was an Australian movie, in English, but it had dubbed into Italian and had English subtitles. The most bizarre thing I swear.

Lol. Actually last year's YUear 12 at my school, there was this guy who wanted to get the equivalent of like, "Mr Chicken" in spanish on the back of his jersey (god knows what significnace it had), but the jersey people translated it cos the Deputy of our school made strict rule thingo that anything in foreign languages had to be translated, and the end translation was "Mr Chicken" - something completely weird and meaningless in English. But i managed to get something in French on mine - not on the front, but under the school emblem, instead of my name - go figure...

And Sasky as well - Triplets of Belleville is coming to DVD soon so watch out for it if you're still interested.

I love foreign movies...in fact I prefer them over Hollywood movies.

I like French films but usually I'm more into Asian films. Did anyone watch the Japanese film 'All about Lily chou chou' on SBS a while ago? I couldnt believe SBS was airing it! I wanted to watch it from the moment it was released a few years ago but never managed to get my hands on it. The cinematography was just beautiful in some scenes...dont wanna give it away though. I taped 'Stereo future' last night and watched it today....loved the samurai humor.

I need to get my hands on 'Old boy'....I was twitching with excitement when I heard it won 2nd prize at the Cannes film festival...

Cant wait for HSC to finish so I can watch Hero, Steamboy, Azumi and Love me if you dare.....oh..does anyoen know is Kim Ki duk's film 'spring summer autumn winter...and spring' is still playing in theatres?
