Question. The module is called representation and text, so, for a response, are we talking about the composers (Sitch et al) representation of the media (in the form of current affairs TV) OR the representation by the tv show Frontline itself (the show in a show)!

Well your analysis/study is based on your prescribed text(s) [this should be Frontline in your case if that's the text you're doing at school] AND your chosen related text(s).

from what I understand your text has to look at the presentation of information as well as the external forces that influence the information that is presented. Pretty much that the information is tainted due to the media being manipulated. So in Frontline wouldnt u be looking at respresentations of Media and actually of the Frontline program and what has affected it?

your related texts should at least make comments on the media (how it is influenced by govt, money, prejudice etc) AND be an example of the media's bias. Both of these characteristics are what Frontline deal with.

You should be examining both aspects of 'the truth': how the current affairs programme 'Frontline' distorts the truth, as well as the ways in which the composers (Sitch) also create their own truth.

so,

you look at sitch's representation of tv journalism taking account of the following:- medium, textual form, perspective, language and devices.

and look at the Frontline program, focusing on the way it represents truth, and the factors which affect this representation (ratings, network execs, etc).
