Disadvatanges:
- scales poorly
- not interesting
- there is multiple choice!
- structure of the exam is more confusing
- few uni courses have gen maths as recommended study
- easy => hence, more silly mistakes
I must agree with this poster.

Well, maybe the occasional multiple choice is good, my Engineering Mathematics exam contained true or false questions and what was good about it was it tested conceptual understanding of the topics, not just grind your brain away at problem after problem.

Don't forget there is no Calculus.
Don't you know how important calculus is in mathematics?

Don't forget the reputation.
Thanks for reminding me!
Don't forget to +rep Fortify.

general mathematics is a joke really, 75% of the stuff imo has already been learnt in previous years

but then the difficulty between general and 2unit is hectic, it feels like youre doing year 10 maths if you drop down from 2unit

if its anything like my school, you'll get ripped on by your friends so much =]

general is shit. everyone can do 2 unit, if you decide you really cant cope with that, then dont bother doing maths at all.

my 2 cents
You seem like an elitist douchebag, my 2 cents.

Well, I did General Maths. I topped the grade with 95 in the final HSC exam. I received the UAI that I wanted, some may have not been happy with the mark I got, but that was what I was aiming for.

In Uni study, I've had to do first year Statistics. General Maths really helped. Some people who did Mathematics are struggling. Remember z-scores, because if you have to do statistics (where most have to at macquarie uni), you will encounter z-scores.
