Oh yeah for Q7 a i just multiplied everything by lnx (so it was (lnx)^2 - 3 = 2lnx) then solved as quadratic (lnx=x).

Is that right?
OHHHHH CRAAAAAAAP lost 3 marks for something so simple!
...or 2 maybe 'cos I did that first step and not the quadratic part. Ah well, at least I was on the right track!

Thanks for pointing that out, ondroo. ^^ GOSH I knew there was some catch... No wonder there was nothing on roots of quadratics, LOL.

Easier than I was expecting, until 9 and 10.

9 and 10 were both harder than I was expecting.

Yep,
thats the right way to do it so x=e^3 ( if its the right qn)

For question 10 b) iii: Did anyone get a numerical answer? Or was it supposed to be algebraic?

For the beam question, where it sagged,
Did anyone just integrate it, and substitute the 2 points given in it?
Then use simultaneous equations to find C=0
and then part 2 was just weird, except C= something horrible

easy as piss the exam. Finished in 2hrs.
The 1st 4 questions only took 35mins. Only one or 2 questions (Like a or b question) stumped me, then i went back and did them easy.
Band 6 i recon, but then again, il wait for dec 16th.

I HATE Careless mistakes!!! *explodes*

I'm on 116/120 already and that's if the markers will be generous enough to give me marks for my working.

The worst part is that I knew how to do every question.

I reckon I got all answers correct so far but I didn't look all the answers posted up here in detail because it's a bad luck. I discussed the questions I wasn't sure with some people, I got them alright which is good. I am hoping for 120 but that's not really going to happen unless...yeah

I would be happy with anything over 118 or state rank.

I more or less pwned it, I think (late because this site has been database error-ing for ages).

Surprisingly got all of 10 out, 9 fucked me a bit though.

Even managed to save myself about 5 marks worth of stupid mistakes :D

thanks to some last minute tutoring and past papers i did pretty well. question 10 actually violated me, but asides from that it was quite manageable.

haha now i have roughly 63 formulas bluetacked around my room that i need to take down :p
