If there was no aligning, a majority of people in the state would fail.

You serious?

A teacher at my school is a marker and apparently a lot of people haven't been going so well in non-calculator. If that is a good representation of the test as a whole then maybe we will get aligned nicely = ).

Not too sure if guys are still interested, but the last question (finding the general expression for n) was:

1/4 n^4 + 1/2 n^3 + 1/4 n^2

If you guys were able to see that the pattern was a quartic, you may have been able to solve it by simulataneously solving it!

But I'm starting to think from this discussion that I didn't need to go through with all that labour!!!!!

Was it OK to just put 1^3 + 2^3 + 3^3 + ...... n^3???
Hey, sorry for the late reply, but I'm finally back from camp and other miscellaneous stuff!! As for this question, I'm pretty sure it's fine if you put 1^3 + 2^3 + 3^3 + ...... n^3 since an expression can include ellipses and since n is an undefined no. I'm pretty sure that's what they wanted you to do for that question.

n^n...wow, that's the first time I've heard that before, but yeah that's definitely wrong...

I think it wasn't overly easy or hard, but i failed it miserably. I was very unhappy after the exam and that didn't get better when I got the results.

I received 86 (Band 5), which Is very bad for me PLUS last year me and a bunch of other people in my year did accelerated maths and did our SC last year. I got 84 then. So I only gained 2 marks. :(

My twin sister got 93, so I'm very pissed at myself.
