Good free graphics programs? (1 Viewer)

I made a grahics tutorial 4 BOS using Photoshop and Paintshop Pro, but a few people have asked me to make one using a free program, can anyone suggest any good ones?

A link to version 1.1 was posted some time ago... I use it, whether those on this forum in the know would recommend it or not. Just another option, that's all.

Isnt the GIMP as hard to get your head around as Photoshop if you are not used to it? (plus being an exercise in massive overkill as well..just like photoshop!)

note..I use PS and have done since V.1 so please dont tell me how easy it is to use!! Remember that Im talking graphics newbies here....

Give Paint.net a go. It is alot easier to use than the gimp, but is still quite a poweful program.
