I have been labeled a Goth for a while now, but it has become more frequent. I am just wondering what ya'll opinions on this are.

I wear almost exclusively black.
I listen to almost every style of music under the sun, but have passion for the heavier styles.
I am (extremely) comfortable with myself.
I smile infrequently.
I am a musician (I play piano).
I am a writer (inherent with that is being a reader).
I draw.
I have an interest in history and the darker aspects of human existence.

These are all truths about myself.
Opinions?

makeup?

a goth is predominantly associated with an appearance. pics needed
Not necessarily.

Gothic stereotyping is applied to those with makeup, whereas goth is a mindset and personality type from what I have researched. Basing "gothisism" on appearance and makeup is what can breed posers, as it can with any group in society.

I'm raving now...

Why thank you Omie XD.

I know you didn't mean it to be negative... I'm just in a raving mood I guess :D. Thanks for your input though.

I don't have any pictures, as I don't own a camera sadly :(.

EDIT: I'm also a bit of a photographer XD.

I don't mind it... I think. I don't see anything wrong with it.

yeah i agreee.
thats the way i recognise goths are by their appearance!
just in MY views, i see them as likee black wearing, heavy dark eye makeup, albino white foundation skin, long witchy clothes, sometimes black hair with random coloured strands too? but kinda not taken care of/scraggy, LOTS of facial peircings or something like stretched out ears and stuff, no smiling/hardly and basically people who look like theyre gna eat you! LOL
ok maybe not but yeaaah. did that help! LOL
cause i basically stereotyped a goth in my views =/

I don't even know if I am, let alone which one.

David, as far as I know, it's not about not conforming or rebellion, it's about having different interests in life, which don't conform to society's views. Of course there are others that are the same.
