Personally, I find it rather offputting to receive compliments from girls about my looks. Not to sound immodest, but I have had a handful of such compliments confused but:
a) I'd much rather be acknowledged for personality than have someone thinking i'm attractive and get bored when they do figure out my personality.
b) Good looks would be wasted on me and much better suited to a person with actual confidence...though as many point out, looks aren't neccesarily needed if confidence is present.
