"7.2.1 The GWAM used for honours assessment includes all
attempts at all units of study completed while a student is
enrolled at the University (in both single and combined
degree courses).
7.2.2 Units at a level higher than 4 are treated as level 4 units.
7.3 The various classes of honours are awarded on the basis of a
student's GWAM, as follows:
7.3.1 First Class: GWAM greater than or equal to 75
7.3.2 Second Class/ Division 1:WAM greater than or equal to 70
and less than 75
7.3.3 Second Class/Division 2: GWAM greater than or equal to 65
and less than 70
7.4 Any student with a GWAM greater than or equal to 85 will be
considered eligible for the award of a University Medal."

To calculate, it is:

sum(credit points * mark * year level of subject)/sum(credit points * year level)

Too easy.

(and a rough # of people who get 1st class is <5%, 2nd class is about 10-15%)
