for the maintaining a balance course im wondering, are we supposed to know about:
  • anabolism/catabolism
  • graphs eg. enzyme concentration, substrate concentration, temp, acidity (pH)
  • homeostasis in mammals
a QN from homeostasis in mammals:

A constant level of calcium needs to be maintained in the blood. Calcium is very important in maintaining a proper nerve, muscle and cell membrane function. It is a factor in blood clotting and in the proper growth of teeth and bones. Excess calcium leads to a condition in humans called nephrocalcinosis (calcium deposits in the kidneys), while the lack of calcium causes rickets in children, resulting in bone deformities.

Write a general statement summarising the need to maintain constant levels of calcium in mammalian blood.
i couldn't find these in the heinemann book so i am asking u guys..thx

but you do need to learn about all the three types of graphs
and also about the homeostasis in mammals
