I need help in a part of the module in that I need to know the relationship between the voltage drop across the battery and the voltage drop across each component of the circuit, in a series circuit. Can anyone help?

In all loops of an electric circuit the sum of the potential rises is equal to the sum of the potential drops. For example, say there is a simple series circuit consisting of two resistors and a battery supplying a voltage V then the sum of the voltages through the two resistors must be V. This is known as Kirchoff's voltage law.
