Like most other Year 12s, I'm still looking for a part time/casual job. How can I increase my chances? Especially for someone who has never worked before.

I want to work at places like:

• Coles/Woolies
• Dick Smith
• BIG W/Kmart
• Target
• Optus Stores
• MYER

What are the standards for people our age? Say, if I wanted to hand my resume in person at the store I'm interested in, what should I wear?

Any advice?

Apply for everything and anything you could do, don't be picky.

i just wear jeans and a nice shirt. Its so freaking hard to get jobs atm though because most people have already hired Christmas casuals despite us 09ers being ready to commence work straight away

most of those places above you'll need to apply online - although most likely there will be little vacancies left, most of the christmas casuals were taken in by late october. as above, just go for anywhere.
