it depends on your personal strengths and weaknesses. Engineering is a practical as well as theoretical discipline. In school I was a math and science nerd, so I got through exams pretty easily. However the practical labs and workshops is what I struggled with more, as Im not a very hands on person.

Id suggest taking a year off and volunteer on a farm or do something that requires a great deal of physical, practical and manual labour before considering engineering. In the engineering workplace, you only use 25% of what you studied at uni unless you go into research or become a teacher.

A lot of jobs in engineering do not involve any form of manual labour whatsoever.

There are a few specific jobs that do require some manual labour but not all jobs do so.
