It slows people down until they're out of sight from the speed camera. Hardly a huge deterrent. It also fucks up traffic flow because people tend to go from 5-10 over to 5-10 under as they go past the camera. They don't accomplish anything except revenue raising.

lol oath, i can get my car to coast down to 90 on m4 about 5 metres before the camera, then floor it straight back up the second i hit the sensors.
