Just wanting to know, supposedly you're solving a calculation question.

My teacher said to always do it to 4 sig figures. (no matter what.)

But my tutor (who is ABSOLUTELY certain) that i have to use the lowest sig fig used within the question.

I told my teacher that, and she said thats a PHYSICS sort of thing to do :S

I'm so confused :mad:

According to my chem. teacher you should use the lowest significant figures given in the question. And from experience I believe this to be a safe approach to follow. Hope that helps!
