Too much. Arts subjects with no textbooks are good. Just a reader which is like $35 tops. But then again, you'll be doing a shitload of photocopying.

You'd be surprised, most of my books have been $80 or more upto $140 thus far. Uni students have it hard, esp if you have to pay for everything.

Range from about 10-100. And membership is worth it... unless you plan to go second hand all the way :p

co-op member form 2004 onwards only get 10% discount. But students, which obviously we are, get a further 8% discount as well. So all up, 18%.

there are massive queues at the bookstore the first few weeks of uni going back, and sometimes they sell out of text's and you have to wait ages for them to get them in (especially if they are reading bricks not proper text books). i usually get mine the week before. they have lists in the bookstore and on the wall outside the bookstore that faces the library of all the subjects and the required texts.

you don't know what textbooks you need UNLESS you look at the textbook list...

the lecturers say in the first lecture for each subject, and its in each subjects study guide that is usually handed out in the first lecture. so most people wait for their lectures then line up to get them. they lecturers have tell the bookstore way before the semester starts so they can order them in.

usually there is 1 text that its assumed you have for the subject, and then one or two other "recommended" texts.

hmm.. yeah it'll be a little less than 18% (if it's 10, and then 8), that's ok though

they originally wanted us to buy our books on enrolment, but they wont even have the book lists out till then!

Well, textbooks usually don't change except for edition. For Actuarials in first year, I'm probably going to put up a post to sell my textbooks, sometime in early February.
