Hi, I made a lesson on this dot point which covered the menstrual cycle, and the different hormones as well as the process of fertilization and implantation. I am going to add videos by the end of today for that lesson for you, however, you do not need to know this in that much detail and is usually a multiple-choice question or a 2-6 mark short answer in the trial and/ or HSC exams that I have seen so far.

From what I've summarised in my own notes and from my teachers notes, you don't have to know too much besides a simple overview of the processes of fertilisation (e.g. sperm meets egg, only one allowed in, if unsuccessful fertilisation egg rips urethra lining), implantation (blastocyst implanting on the walls of the reproductive tract), and hormonal control (how the hormones work to regulate the body while the baby is about to leave the womb). You don't need to know what the specific hormones such as Oestrogen and follicle stimulating hormones (FSH) do although it might help to have a basic understanding of them so that the processes make much more sense and you can relate the hormones to what is actually taking place in the body in regards to the embryo.

(You can ignore the table on the hormones if you want)
