Discretion - the power to use one's judgment in a given situation eg judges have SOME (NOT COMPLETE) discretion in sentencing etc etc Now, pick on a few people in the criminal justice system then dig up a million and one cases/media articles/legislation that support your opinion. ie whether discretion is necessary in our legal system (yes? no? decide)
