test was easy imo except for galvanic cell... all the preparation payed off for once ^^ well i think it did

Yeah, in the galvanic sell, Platinum does nothing to the cell at all... just a funny little thing you have to remember...

Industrial Chem was good. And I thought the multiple choice was awesome.

I got this too - i was terrified i stuffed up but apparently not :)

H2so4 main use is definitely in fertilisers - i think that even without mentioning superphosphate you'd get a mark but i put it in anyway - the syllabus point is very clear on this. The core doesn't help as it doesnt tell you the MAIN use.

I got 1.77% ish on the nitrogen, about 3.6 for the ethanol.

Overall i thought it was a very good paper, not too hard at all :party:

i dont want to party poop....but @ kanux & carlytse.....the qestion asked for %nitrogen not % NH3....so u had to add another step 2NH3 ---> N2 + 3H2....then u divide no. of moles by 2...and if im not mistaken....the answer if i remember was around 1.7% or so

Luckily you got the same answer but I think the official method is different...you are supposed to find the molar mass of nitrogen and the molar mass of ammonia, find the proportion of ammonia which is made up of nitrogen and use that to find the total weight of nitrogen in the sample. The Haber process didn't come into it at all.

This was essentially the same question as the sulfate content in fertiliser, just with different chemicals.

I didnt use this method. The way i did it was to find the moles of ammonia, and then because there is only one N in NH3 then the molar ratio of N:NH3 is the same hence you have the same moles of nitrogen as ammonia and you can use this to find the mass.
