i think hypertext is talking about the system which allows documetns to be crosslinked whether it be by text , video , audio wahtever

but hyperlinks are talking about the actual highlighted item to move to another document

Seraph has the right idea

the two are really similar that they would basically carry the same definition
i wouldn't worry too much about it

very similar things...

hypermedia = any display object (images, video, animation or text NOT AUDIO) that when clicked links to another slide, page, or document etc about the isplay object. Eg you click on an image of a dog and are taken to a website about dogs.

hypertext = hypermedia in text form (the underlined coloured text you click) that takes you to for example other web pages

hah

that would seem a much more logical definition of hypertext .. hyperlinks off text .. but i thought this was collective under "hypermedia"

I smell a question like this coming up
