If there's only 3 in the class and the top mark is (94+90)/2 and the lowest is 90 then the person coming last gets 90, being the lowest.

is it both A and B should get the top external mark, which is 94 ?

but only 1 person got that 94...so only 1 person can get it,,

As there were two equal firsts the top two marks are averaged - so (94+90)/2 = 92 so the top two get 92 as their internal keeping their own external mark of 90 hence their mark of 91.

As the only other student received 94 in the exam, he/she gets to keep that 94 and adds the 90 (the lowest external mark) and ends up with 92 and thus beats the other two.
