List the range of compounds found in petroleum:

Ok in crude oil, theres a mixture of different length alkanes and alkenes (by length im refering to the number of carbon atoms in the chain) including methane (C1), octane (C8), parrafin (C20 - C40) .

Petroleum is a liquid containing hydrocarbons of C5 - C12 length (hydrocarbons shorter than this are gasous).

Also, since crude oil is extracted from underground, alot of minerals are in there. The one of biggest concern is Sulfur, this is becuase it reacts with oxygen gas when petrol is burnt to produce sulfur dioxide, the major cause of acid rain.

In the future, please don't make multiple threads, people are busy with study this time of year (especially with Trial HSC exams), so you can't expect a quick response all the time
