I think I performed really badly in my exams, especially in English Advanced and Maths Advanced. English was weighted 25%, and Maths was weighted 20%, so it’s really stressing me out. My goal ATAR is 90+, and maybe I’m already expecting the worst from my first assessment, but I’m wondering if this goal is unachievable.

I think another factor was that I had the school musical (5 shows) during the two-week Year 12 test period. I’m wondering whether this can be taken into account when I receive my ATAR.

Anyways, just a small rant AHAHAHA (I'm really stressed).

omg me too, I flunked english adv (worth 15%) and didn't get a high mark in physics (worth 25%). My goal is also 90+, I spoke to my teachers and they said the only thing to do rn is to rly use the 6 week holidays to prepare for task 2, basically just focus on what's next. I feel the same way, I know it can be really dejecting and stressfull to get a bad mrk in yr 12 but you cant rly do anything ab it. I knowww it sounds cliché but you just gotta focus on what's ahead.

Since you're not going for an extremely high ATAR, if you prepare well these Christmas holidays and raise your marks in the next few terms you'll be fine. Consider talking to your teachers about the school musical to see if they can do anything. Good luck!

highly unlikely nesa or ur teachers would change ur mark bcuz u had a school musical on. i think as long as you improve for next assessment though these marks shouldnt impact too harshly on ur atar goal, espc if you go to a higher ranking school

AAAA you’re right, there’s really nothing that can be done about it :( I hope we both do well in our next assessments and get that 90+! good luck ehehehe ❤❤

Yes you can! I believe some of the adjustment points automatically go to your selection rank depending where you apply and what your results are for your atar. You shouldn’t worry too much, you’ll end up where you need to be. Goodluck!

not sure if u could for a musical, but for other stuff sure. tbh i think youre overthinking this a lot, i dont think getting a crummy mark will ruin ur chances of a 90, espc since ur at a top 60 school
