What is'Distinguish between the immediate physiological response to training and physiological adaptations to aerobic training' actually asking?

The distinguish between part has got me. ... ? Cheers..

An immediate physiological response would be things like sweating, increased heart rate etc.

Physiological adaptations, such as higher stroke volume, lower resting heart rate, occur over a longer period of time (a number of weeks).
