Marcus first thought that working and studying would be difficult. He has, however, come to realise that it provides extra motivation to study, as one must more carefuly consider their time. It keeps one self-aware and active.

Justin states that he spent enough time not studying, that he could have been working instead. In any case, it's too late to complain about that and will just worry about the post-HSC rush for employment.

He also thinks it's not that hard to balance study and work, if you set your availability to allow a reasonable amount of time for each.

Marcus agrees with Justin.

Marcus wonders if Justin enjoyed his rather enjoyable sounding day (yesterday).

Justin says that he did, however he felt sick a couple of time as a result of too much French toast, followed too quickly by lunch.

Marcus is muchly amused by this :D. Marcus thinks that the expression, "too much of a good thing", might apply here. Marcus wonders if Justin is practising eating large amounts of food in preparation for visiting his relatives :p.

It reminds Marcus of a time when he gouged himself on Chicken Nuggets. To this day he cannot look upon them without lurching.

Justin states that he just overestimated how much he could eat, and as a result made himself feel sick on and off for the rest of the day. He is sure the humidity didn't help either.

Justin says that the only person in his family who comment on how he should eat more is his grandmother on his dad's side. His family doesn't talk to his dad's sister. In any case, it was just overestimation and eating too soon afterwards.

Justin hasn't eaten breakfast yet, or even gotten dressed. He thinks he should do these things some time now.

Marcus agrees that regular eating and personal grooming are important, maybe more important than the Important: Please Read thread. Marcus says that it seems to be the role of Greek grandmothers and great aunt's to stuff their grandchildren and nieces and nephews with food. Marcus' relatives will really not accept no as an answer.

Marcus tells Justin that Marcus mother also copped flak from her family for marrying a non-Greek. Marcus is not happy about this behaviour, and he let them know what he thought of it. Luckily, his relatives on that side of the family have never treated him badly. Their kindness, however, can sometimes be suffocating.

Justin's grandmother loves his entire family, regardless of their nationality (which, in his mother's case, is not Greek). However, his aunty can't seem to accept this, and so we don't talk to that part of the family.

Justin says that family is not necessarily about being blood related, but rather based on relationships between people. For this reason, he does not view his dad's sister and her family as part of his extended family in any way other than through blood.

Marcus agrees that the bonds of family are not made just by blood . Marcus' father left when Marcus was 5, and Marcus has only seen him three times since then. Marcus feels a closer bond to his godmother, who is not related by blood, but who has been there for Marcus as he has grown up.

Justin thinks that Marcus' godmother is definitely family to him, regardless of a blood link. Justin feels that relationships are far more important that blood, and that even friends can be like family to a person if the relationships are deep enough.

Just to clarify, Marcus said godmother, not grandmother. :)

Marcus wholly agrees that the relationship is the defining element. Whether it is a relationship forged by blood or by meeting, the relationship grows through time, circumstance and reciprocity.

Justin apologises for misreading, though he is sure Marcus knew what he meant.

In any case, Justin must go have a shower and get changed, because if he doesn't do it now, he never will. He'll be back some time soonish.

"Cool," Marcus says. He will also be online, though he will be finishing cleaning the office, which he was supposed to have finished cleaning yesterday. Dragon-lady not happy...:(

Lynn greets Justin and Marcus.

Lynn feels terrible that Marcus may not know his father all that well (although it may not be relevant to Marcus) even though Lynn cannot speak much for herself - her father, who recently moved out, may as well have been invisible for the past 18 years even though they lived in the same house.

On a positive note, Lynn imagines that Marcus' life is full of... emotion, growing up in such a matriarchal community :D (Lynn is pleased to be able to use two words she learnt in Adv Eng)

Lynn wonders is Justin had a good night's sleep :)

(Lynn's new blood-red nails have brought out a whole new set of ettiquette-type questions, which is amusing)

Justin can't complain too much on his sleep last night, though at one point he woke up and realised that he had somehow switched pillows. Weird.

Justin wonders if Lynn enjoyed the last meal she ate.

Lynn is now very amused.

Lynn enjoyed her "last meal" very much, as a matter of fact. There are a whole lot of BBQ chicken/salad places popping up nowadays and there is one on Lynn's way to singing lessons that makes rather nice chicken pasta salad. Lynn ate most of it whilst curled up on studio stairs, reading one of her Mythology books. It was rather pleasant.

Justin is glad that Lynn enjoyed it.

Justin might start working on his websites new design, and will pop back in every now and then to see how everyone is going.

Lynn salutes Justin and wishes him well.

Lynn decides that now is a good time to cook breakfast, which should be titled "lunch".
