Evan says his teacher bullied everyone even immigrants to participate in Advanced. There were only 9 people to undertake standard and they all also did fundamentals

Actually they dropped Ext 1 Maths to do it. In any case, of the 13, 12 finished their works. Not a bad result.

Justin wonders if everyone else finds Ext 2 students who can't think for themselves frustrating. He is getting really annoyed by the whole "Do you think it's too risky to put the word 'bum'/political references/song lyrics/two protagonists in my work?" routine. [first person]I mean, seriously, think for yourselves. Just write your work and don't worry about every detail. Odds are the marker really doesn't give a damn and wouldn't recognise talent even if it was staring them in the face.[/first person]

Lynn wonders whether the speaker was a Mr David Eldridge, one of Lynn's english teachers (she would not be suprised if they had 58 for this year)

Lynn thinks it is prudent to point out that she thinks many selective schools like her own start off with many EE2 students, but the numbers do drop after the first term or two.

Not in one class he didn't, the record is in the 20s for a non-selective and possibly high 40s for selective

Does this now make Lynn some kind of celebrity? :)
Edit: Evan has been told by someone who did both double ext at NSGHS that they basically just pressure a person alot more but not much attention which is needed with extensions.

Lynn now laughs semi-hysterically.

BABOON! She shrieks in a fit of madness... lol. Lynn is now contemplating emailing Mr Eldridge, just for old time's sake...

EDIT:

In response to Diana's question, HGHS is suprisingly good in terms of making sure each student gets enough attention - although it may help that they are quite small (120 students). Mr Eldridge's classes in particular are more like university lectures than anything else, and thus Hornsby Girls are expected to really learn their work and understand it. Most teachers there go the extra mile for their students, giving out email addresses, home phone numbers, mobile phone numbers... even home addresses on occassion (and are more than willing to talk outside of class). HGHS also prepares their students quite well - particularly in the case of the EE1 Retreat From The Global module (as Mr E wrote it). It also helps that most if not all of the english teachers are markers, with Mr E being a Senior Marker that tells everyone else what to look for.

We also get amusing anecdotes about Mr E's life every now and again... he is quite eccentric at times, but very intelligent, if a little intimidating.

In response to Evan's question, Lynn remarks that if he were to be in her company for five minutes, any thoughts of her being a "celebrity" of sorts would completely fly out of the window. For example - at the last IPR get-together, Justin and Marcus spent the better part of their time throwing bits of bread and sticks at her. :p

EDIT: In reply to Diana's post below, not only did Lynn go to a Selective school, but she went to the english-obsessed Hornsby Girls, who came 4th according to the Daily Telegraph (which is the one that takes into account ration of students and credits). WE BEAT BARKER AND BAULKO!! MUAHAHAHA!

Evan puffs himself up and informs Diana that back in the day he went to a selective school. A crap selective but a selective nonetheless.
