X^2+ 3>4x


For some reason the book swaps the inequality sign why

x^2 + 3> 4x
x^2 - 4x + 3 > 0
(x-3)(x-1) > 0
x < 1, x > 3

Therefore the graph has x intercepts 1 and 3 and the shaded region is to the left of x=1 and right of x=3

It's the same thing, they've just moved everything to the other side. I prefer always making the coefficient of the highest degree positive
