Whilst a lot of people hate the closed system and the lack of customisation, as I've gotten older and had a lot less time to muck around with things, I do appreciate having it work quite easily out of the box with my iPhone 4, 4S and iPad. The non-fragmented system worked well for my needs and hence I was quite happy with it- and with an iPhone 5 all my existing apps/music purchases just carry over and I can continue doing as I do but faster/better/whatever. That being said, whilst Android also interests me, i think I'll probably hold off buying another phone this generation given that I've also still got more than a year on my other phone (BB9900). Who knows, maybe Windows Phone will make a comeback. Also going to wait until my firm gives me another licence to use my email on another iOS device.

really not worth the extra money if you're upgrading from 4 or 4s

At the end of the day, it's a premium product with a premium price tag.

And somehow I ended up ordering one yesterday from Vodafone.

Vodafone gave me good deal for being long term customer to pay $20 a month :) ... so I asked how much to just add on the iPhone 5 32gb. Figured it's a day's pay... spread over 24 months. And it's tax deductible.

I'll report back if it's good/lousy and whether it lives up to their Youtube video showing 11.5Mbps download speeds. I'm on a $20 6 mth contract and so far so good but if it turns out to be lousy I'll just change networks :)

Hahaha oops. That was more me and my pre-coffee brain, less the phone. Although I am finding the keys are a lot stickier than on my 3G one. Possibly just because its new.

Yeah, requires more force and keeps missing buttons that I've hit, especially the space bar. Probably just because my fingers are fat though.

that's really odd. I've used the 5 in store and it feels just like my 4 and 4S- both of which were easier to type on due to less lag and more sensitivity than the 3.

It's definitely less laggy than the 3. I used to have to wait a few seconds for it to catch up to what I'd written. I just found it easier to type on the 3. It might be because they (or I) haven't updated the messenger yet. The actual phone screen is bigger than the program's screen, so I keep hitting where I think the spacebar should be relative to the home button and missing it.

Oh that's because you're using a legacy app which doesn't support the iPhone 5's increased vertical resolution.
