4u tests are harder than 3u!

And the harder 3u is so friggin hard in the 4u exams!
Especially questions 6 n onwards!

3u doesn't test us on that kinda stuff,
so i dunno how you find 4u easier when you are
able to complete a 3u exam in less than 2 hours
and struggle to finish a 4u exam in 3 hours!!

3U is WAYYY easier than 4u u fool!! :p

Jonk I was with you on that one until yesterday. I haven't touched a 3u since last term, only 4u papers, and when I "returned" to a 3u it was sooooo easy.....I guess it could have just been a really easy paper but it was a Ruse trial, so I doubt it.

4 unit is harder in general.....
but 3 unit doesnt scale as well as 4 unit maths...
so i guess 4 unit is harder than 3 unit....
all u have to do is compare the exams to each other, then u will know the difference, also compare ur not scale marks. that will definitely show the difference:p

4u is meant to be harder but because of this, ppl spend alot more time on this, and less on their 3u, so they often think 4u is actually easier...

Let me answer your questions with equations.

4u = conics + integration + ... + curve sketching + mechanics + harder(3u)

3u < harder(3u)

.'. 4u > 3u

.'. exam(4u)>exam(3u)

:p

In my school it was more like "my name is turtle, so remember when you mark it to look REALLY hard for any silly mistakes I have, and also take an extra mark off because I use obscure working which i then have to wrestle back..." lol

3u is heaps easy, if you're up to date on work, you basically don't need to study. if you do 4u you're advantaged simply because you'd spend more time on maths.. and maths is all about practise really. 4u there are alright questions and some really really challenging ones. a capable 4u student should prob be able to get the easier questions and then give a decent go at the more challenging question. if you're struggling heaps with understanding complex mathematical problems then don't do it and give yourself a break because your life will be heaps miserable. you'll also have heaps more time for your other subjects that way, too.

my impression was that if you did 4u, then you don't need to study for 3u

but i didn't really know what was 4u and what was 3u, cos my teacher jus mixed the two together...

i found that i had to do much more study for 3 unit than 4... mainly cause with 4 you gain an actual understanding, but with 3, they just chuck formula at you
