For the record, I do not surf Something Awful forums, nor am a member. One forum is enough for anyone. Also, I have a life.

Barbara Bayton's short stories, which are pretty depressing, Bush's "Axis of Evil" speech, and Donnie Darko...
As the other classes are doing things like Buffy...

I'm not doing Victorian literature, but we're doing a Victorian appropriation of the "tragic hero", Thomas Hardy's Tess of the D'Urbervilles. Hey your doing exactly the same subjects as me:eek:

We're doing Romeo and Juliet as our core text.

It's as boring as all hell.
We are too, using the millions of appropriations of it in film. . .

We did Jane Eyre for Advanced. . .Sigh. And we're doing Chaucer next, followed by Othello...

at my skool there are 3 ext classes and every single one is studying HEART OF DARKNESS.... a painfully boring pre-1900 cokarse book with 3 chapters!
3 classes?

whoa, what school is this? an english-crazy school?
at my school there's only one class of about 30

Um.. at my school there is ONE eng ext class with THREE people..

Originally there was 5, but one moved schools before the year started and one dropped it before we even began becoz he couldn't handle it alone with other crazy hardcore Asian subjects like 3 unit maths and physics and whatever.

Our Ext class only has 8 people in it and we've done the Pygmalion myth which included Benard Shaw's Pygmalion, My Fair Lady and Pretty Woman. Now we're doing fairy tale genre and we're focusing on different readings on Little Red Riding Hood and reading a novel called Briar Rose.

Ahaha we did Frankenstein: but not for gothic: for 'The Alien Self'

We also did Alien and Alien 3. Oh my gawd I hated both of those movies: when we were done analysing them there was a 'snarling vagina,' references to fallatio rape, and a lot of phallic symbols. Joy.
