so in year 11 (now just started yr 12) i hardly studied for year 11 ext 1 maths and managed to get over 60% for the tests thorughout the year. I also enjoy all the topics and understand it. however in term 3 i literally didn't do any homework and didnt study and scored 8/75 for my yearlies. However the grade ave was 11% for the yearlies test (it was a harder test than all the other years. ultimately i got 23/50 and ranked 35/53. My question is that, sis it worth keeping 3u and is it manageable if i tried harder now...or have i missed out on way too much work to keep the subject

note:
-need ext 1 for my uni course.
-still did exceptional in all the other subjects

Pretty sure you just answered your own question. If you have 11+ units, keep it, give it your best shot, and if you screw up it won't count anyway.

Yeah I'd say keep it because
- you enjoy it
- you understand it
- you need it in uni
- if you've "hardly" been trying in year 11 and still averaged over 60% then you can do much better in year 12
It'll pay off if you put the effort in. :)

Btw this belongs in the maths ext section

wait why is this in the English thread?
lol, OP mistake.

Anyway, you should keep extension 1 maths as you really seem to enjoy it.

(Mods, relocate this thread to MX1, whenever) :)
