The course wasn't dumbed down, the mid sem was just really easy.
beg to differ

if you introduce multiple choice in 4unit hsc - that's dumbing it down.

far less strict on 'knowledge'

back when i did phys1131 we had our midterm on a saturday morning with only short answer/calculation questions, which is still preferable since we get marks deducted for every incorrect answer in multiple choice questions (on all my core subjects except physics)...

in 08 it was only calculation questions, about 4 or 5 of them.

a lady came down to the front and told us to try our best even if we find it really hard, and that they will be looking to give us as many marks as possible.

its as if she knew we were gonna find it insanely hard :eek::(

Actually, theres only a few formulas to remember.. like u just gotta remember this one formula for momentum .. then the rest is just algebraic? imo.

15 years later and now as a first year student studying PHYS1121 at UNSW, it's probably much worse than what it was before with our 10 week trimester system now... I'm already screwed for the upcoming lab test tomorrow :(
