Only my babs1201 and math1131 have been quite interesting. Although babs1201 has recorded lectures i will still go.
Chem1031 is complete boring. I rather watch the video lecture they put up instead.
Phys1131 is showing some signs of some fun but also boring at the same time.

Overall I will probably just go to Math1131 in the future and maybe babs1201 if it is worth it in the coming lectures.
Really BABS1201 interesting? But i guess ive only done the introduction lecture.
Two of the lecturers seem really standoffish xD

Not really recommended to NOT go to lectures unless you can guarantee you'll self study. Even if the lecture bores you you do absorb some information. Also there are several factors which weigh on the feasibility of not going to lectures:

-Whether lecture recordings exist
-How shit or good your lecturer is
-Whether lecture notes are avaliable
-Whether the textbook covers everything in the lecture (lectures may cover things not in same order as textbook, or talk about completely different things)
-Whether you like to ask people questions to learn
-Whether you actually have the discipline and motivation to learn on your own

Other factors to consider:
-Whether you'll spend the time listening or whether you're going to read webcomics/play WoW(some people apparently cannot drag themselves out for a single straight waking hour)/IM randoms/watch porn(someone did this last year) etc
-Will you be awake?
-Whether or not attendance is marked
-How many classes occur at this time?
-Would you be better able to concentrate on the rest of your lectures if you skipped one and had lunch? (6+ hours/no breaks FTW)

Really does depend on the course and the individual.
One of my courses last year I attended the first and last lectures of + 1 in the middle for an assignment hand-in, got my highest mark for the year in that course.

There's no reason why you can't do just as well without lectures. Pretty much all the information is covered in readings and many of the classes have audio lectures.

Saying that I still think lectures are beneficial. For me, after reading pages and pages of stuff it all sort of filters away and blurs together. Lectures really give a structure to the course, and I remember them. Its so easy to just fall behind if you do independent study. Lectures kind of force you to keep up to date.

Not to mention its good to get out of the house, spend some time at the library etc. If you have small classes then the lecturer will remember if you come or if you don't, and if you need an extension or something that could come in handy.

My Economics lecture does visual examples - by getting volunteers in the class to do stuff. Sure, you can listen to the audio at home - but you need the visuals to fully grasp the concepts. If you listened to the audio lecture for my Economics class today, most of it would be "Okay the rules of the game are..." and he'd often refer to things he would write on the projector screen via light pen or something.

I'm doing economics through just listening to the audio, as I have a lecture clash. Mine does all the curves and graphs in the lecture, and not in the notes, so I just have to do without.

If you've got the textbook, you'll manage.
