Literally most of the state rankers went there and everyone and their mothers recommend it but is it worth it? The fee for year 12, especially if you wanna do both mx1 and mx2 seems a bit much but year 11 seems fine. I also read on one of the forums that the questions are really similar to the Cambridge maths exercise questions? Is that true? It would be great if any current students or anyone else could share their insights, thanks! If it isn't worth it, what are some other alternatives that would prepare you to get a high e4?
It depends on what you
yourself can take away from the teaching.
Bear in mind there is a proportion of the content which is either in the old syllabus or beyond syllabus. I can see both why and why not this is helpful to different people.
For high achievers this would be quite intellectually engaging and actually beneficial. They can see what is tested behind each problem and the transferrable skills and techniques.
For med to med-high level students they might get overloaded by the information and do not always see the common or transferrable techniques. Sometimes they may even get confused by the large amount of different formulae and use them mistakenly if not understood properly.
There is no right or wrong answer to this - one would be better off if taught according to their current level of understanding
e.g. for some really struggling students(which would not apply to the majority of you here) they may actually be better off practising Maths in Focus questions and keep drilling down on Q11's and Q12's.
