Just wondering.

"Base angles of an isoceles trapezium are equal"

Is this a legitimate theorem for the HSC? I came across a question where this would be useful. Its just that I cant recall any mention of this in the preliminary/HSC course (except in year 10)

if it's not in the course, it can easily be proved, and then you can use it.

Just use the old "it can be shown that" trick and then don't actually show it xD

Hmmm. Yer its widely accepted. I can use it for the trial. Wont risk it for the HSC though.

You are allowed to use it without proving it.

If you look up the 2/3 unit syllabus it has several examples (p 24, onwards) where this theorem is used without proof to solve problems.

I don't use that trick...i just use the "(obvious)" trick.

Base angles of an isoceles trapezium are equal (obvious)

lol. Yer, so that way the marker will feel stupid if they decide to mark you wrong.

Where? I don't think theres any mention of a trapezoid there. Just an issoceles triangle...
