I had fails in my previous course. I'm starting a new one this year. Will I get a separate WAM for my new course or will it continue on from before?

Thanks!

Is it within the same uni? It will always be on your transcripts, as far as I understand though WAM or GPA does not usualy include units from other institutions, I am not sure about within the same.

Not sure about transferring unis but if it's within the same university, the courses you successfully applied for transfer of credit will definitely count towards your new WAM.

By completely different degree, you do mean you have your old courses' credit points transferred right? Then of course your marks are kept.

If you abandon your old degree at university #A and start a new degree at university #B, your WAM n GPA get reset. This is provided u don't transfer credit or credit exemption. But if you stay at the same uni, when u finish ur degree, I am very sure they will print all ur failures on ur academic transcript even from ur first degree

When I transferred from MacQ to UNSW, my WAM resetted despite my transfer of credit/credit exemptions. They are on my transcript as credit exemptions but no mark is recorded and don't effect my overall WAM of my degree.

I am not sure how it works with other university transfers.

It shows up for me in my new degree, I'm at the same uni (did an internal transfer)
but it has two different courses down the bottom, like:
Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws WAM: 86.50 GPA: 4 (out of 4)
Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws WAM: N/A GPA: N/A
N/A's since I havent done any subjects in Com/Law yet.
