I luv Pride and Prejudice the most. I also like Emma but it is way anti-climatic. Bring on Mr Darcy!

Definitely. I dragged my friends to see "Girl with the Pearl Earring" cos he was in it, but he wasn't the repressed British hunk in P&P. *sigh*
I'm forever being paid out for being in love with him because Colin Firth is like...40ish? Pity I'm not 35. Other 17-18yrold girls in love with Mr Darcy in P&Pespecially-the-miniseries one speak now!!!
Did you know he didn't want to do P&P originally when they first sent him the script? What a loss to the world if he didn't! *sits down and turns on P&P*
Where is my Mr Darcy?!

you can't go past p&p. I just love Mr Bingley, he's just cute!

Maybe I'm the only one, but has anyone else noticed that you can match up many of the characters in the Austen novels? My friends and I were talking about it, and Wickham, Willoughby and Frank Churchill all share the same traits, as do Miss Bates, Mrs Jennings and Mrs Bennet.

Maybe it's just me- i'm basically reading them simultaneously, so all the plotlines and characters are running together to form one really scary, really confusing book

Finished reading Mansfield park today, very lovely!
Although I didn't like the tone used at the end of the book.

i think jane austen was rather conceited, cause all the 'jane's were like perfect characters... i mean if you wrote a book, why would you name the characters after yourself.

I enjoyed all the Jane Austen books I've read so far...well, except Northanger Abbey maybe...but perhaps back in year 10 the satire went over my head? So hard to pick a fave book/character!
I liked Mr Darcy in the book, but as cute as Colin Firth is, I didn't enjoy his character as much in the BBC version. Contrastingly, I couldn't stand Elisabeth Bennet in the novel, but absolutely adored her in the series. In Sense and Sensibility, Col Brandon is my fave. In Emma, probably Knightley.
