I got a 95 atar and an LAT score of 86 (92 percentile) and unfortunately didn’t get into unsw law this round. What are the chances that I will get an offer during January round 1? I’m assuming that I’m treading on a very thin line since law at UNSW is in demand and is quite competitive, but please do correct me if I’m wrong (aka please give me hope).
I did get accepted into UTS law however but I am a tad bit worried about how attainable an external transfer would be in foresight since I would need a WAM of around 75-80 which is quite difficult to acquire whilst studying law, especially during first year. Overall I’m prioritizing graduating with a law degree over studying at UNSW, but obviously would much rather UNSW in terms of employment opportunities and prestige. Any advice would be highly appreciated, and would also love to know whether or not UTS law is well regarded and a general consensus on whether or not it’s an objectively good law school.

hey!! congrats on the uts offer first and foremost!! i got a 96.1 atar and was rejected from uts law today haha but am still holding out from a unsw offer next month. I can't really say what's competitive for unsw's next round offers since everything is in ridiculously high demand (UTS law LSR jumped to 97.3 today after being 96 for years). Keeping UNSW law in your preferences won't hurt, but UTS law from what i've heard is a very good law school, despite not being exactly on par with unsw and usyd. So whatever happens i strongly suggest you at least accept the UTS offer because you've got a really great backup.

Thank you :) And I’m really sorry you didn’t get accepted. I got in with the schools recommendation scheme for clarification, and got a conditional offer which became unconditional after I met the criteria of an 80+ atar. I think regular atar entry to UTS law is quite difficult in contrast. Regardless I wish you the best in the January rounds!!!
