Saw Pleasantville and State and Main, 2 fine films. State and Main was especially refreshing in the first half, but unfortunately, much like Wag The Dog, the other Mamet written film I've seen, the 2nd half started to lag and by the end I was a lot less interested than I was at the start.

empire records - badly paced, flimsy and under-developed characters, jerky and inconsistent narrative, very good soundtrack, competent acting, horrible wardrobes.

election - witty, cleverly-crafted, multi-dimensional, fantastic performances, and a nice commentary on human imperfection.
